It’s Autumn, the most romantic time of the year! It’s time to leave behind hot summer nights and welcome the most colorful season of love.  If fires, cuddling and warm apple cider are not for you, here are 6 date ideas that will have you fall-ing for each other all season.

1) Apple picking: If it’s a perfect fall day and the sun is shining, drag your significant other out to the apple orchards. New Hampshire is known for its abundance of delicious honey crisp and Cortland apples. If you don’t fancy apples, many orchards also harvest pumpkins, raspberries and peaches this season (can’t forget about cider donuts). Here are some places around Durham you can visit:

Blueberry Bay Farm: Stratham, NH

Applecrest: Hampton Falls, NH

Hazelton Orchards: Chester, NH

Get your Frye boots and matching flannels on and pick your own bushel!

2) Haunted house: The one date you hate to love. Researchers have found that neurochemicals released when you’re scared can make you feel more attracted and attached to the person you’re with. It’s science, people! So grab on tight to your man when you get jumped walking those scary halls.

3) Pumpkin carving: Give the pumpkins you picked at the orchard a cute makeover with Halloween inspired carving. While you carve a creepy face your boy can be doing his favorite sports logo. In the end, you and your date can roast the seeds and admire your work on your front stoop.

4) Scary movie: Who doesn’t love a good scary movie? Bring your boo to a flick so you have a hand to hold when the jumpy scenes make you want to run and hide.

Some upcoming movies this fall are:

Where the Devil Hides– October 11th

Carrie– October 18th

Nothing Left to Fear- Out now!

5) Hiking: One of the benefits of going to school in New England is the beautiful scenery and foliage.  Pack a picnic, put on your hiking boots and take a trip north. The mountain views and falling leaves set a picture-esque ambiance for you and your lover to post up and enjoy the views. Plus, you are guaranteed a great instagram selfie…. #fall

6) Corn Maze: Take a trip to the shack, grab your favorite java, and hit up the corn maze at Coppal House Farm in Lee, NH! Hey, getting lost may not be such a bad thing!  ;)
