Late Girls Guide To Getting Ready Fast

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

We’ve all been there…you hear your alarm go off and you just cannot get out of bed. Whether you went to bed at 8pm or 1am opening your eyes is one of the biggest struggles you’ll face all day. If you’re like me and physically cannot leave your bed come morning time here’s a few tips to getting ready quick, so you can keep hitting that snooze button!

1.     Shower at night.

This tip is definitely one that lets you sleep later. Showering at night saves you almost a good hour in the AM to catch some extra zzz’s. Plus, you won’t have to roll into your 8am with dripping wet hair.

2.     Pick out your outfit at night.

Whether your outfit consists of sweatpants and a sweatshirt or skinny jeans and a sweater, grab it all the night before. When you’re getting ready for bed grab your leggings and sweater and put it on your desk chair. This way you won’t be running from one side of the room to under your bed to find that last clean pair of socks you have. Plus, your roommate will thank you for not being so loud in the closet and drawers in the morning! Win, Win!

3.Braids, Buns, Blush.

This might sound weird but if you’re in a hurry you’ve got two hairstyles to choose from and one makeup essential. You can take your pick: throw your hair in a messy side braid, or throw that barely brushed hair into a top knot. And lastly for your one makeup essential: Blush…this one product will actually make you look alive and not like Casper the ghost! (If you have the luxury of an extra two mins feel free to swipe some mascara over your lashes).

4.Pack your bag the night before.

Don’t wait until the AM to realize that you left your notebook in your friends room last night! Grab your books, agenda, and a few pens and throw them in your bag. Leave it by the door and this way you just have to grab and go!

5. Eat breakfast on the go.

Sorry to all you late girls but there is just no world where you will have the luxury of waiting in the 40 minute omelet line. Even though it would be nice to have a sit down breakfast in the dining hall with coffee and friend you need something quick and easy. Granola Bars, yogurt, or muffins are all good options that you can chow down on while walking to class.
