Â
What is RueLala?
Â
Rue La La is an e-commerce company and the destination for the most desired brands at Members–only prices. Each day, they curate Boutiques filled with the best of the best in women’s and men’s fashion, home, travel, kids, and more. New Boutiques open at 11AM ET and stay open for just 48 hours headquarted in Boston, MA.
How did you get this internship with them?
Â
Since I have always been interested in fashion I had did some research to see what my options were locally and come to find out one of my favorite shopping sites was located in Boston! I went right on the website and emailed my resume in and went from there!
Â
Â
What did you do for RueLala?
Â
I interned with the Apparel Event Production Department–which couldn’t have been a better fit for myself! I like to refer to is as the department that is associated with each and every part of the process from the buyer making a sale with a vendor for the product to a RueLaLa member making their purchase at 11am. Since there were different sales everyday, I never had a set schedule. I would accumulate weekly sales and creative snapshots of all live events that ran that week along with being present in daily meetings with the buyers and event producers. I was able to give forth my own revisions on certain events that did not do as well as planned to potentially have greater results in the future! I was constantly up from my desk collaborating with all departments and even got to spend a lot of time downstairs in the studio with the models.
Â
Â
Is this something you’d like to continue in the future?
Â
Absolutely, enjoyed every minute of my internship! The program had flown by and by the end of the summer I was sad to leave. RueLala’s work culture is definitely what I’ve been looking for. Associates there eat.breathe.Rue. They’re so passionate about their work and let’s be honest…who wouldn’t want to work in a fun, innovative, and creative environment!?
Â
What was your favorite part of your internship?
Â
My favorite part of my internship was working with such intelligent energetic people; not only associates but with also the other 12 interns in various departments! Also a few of my favorite perks of the internship were the complimentary daily dunkins coffee, bagel fridays, and saving the best for last…SAMPLE SALES! Every fashionista’s dream
