Inexpensive Valentine’s Date Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Hey ladies, and Happy (almost) Valentine’s Day! Whether you’re in a relationship or NOT here are some fun and inexpensive date ideas for the special day!! Yes, you heard that right!! So, all you single ladies out there, grab your girlfriends and have a Galentine’s Day celebration!!

1. Cook dinner

There is nothing your date will love more than a home cooked meal. Pick out a recipe, head to the store, and start cooking. My go-to meal is chicken parmesan because it is so easy and delicious. Also, if your date is up for it cook dinner together. It’s cute and sexy to see what your date is like in the kitchen.

2. Movie marathon

Grab your candy, popcorn, and soda for movie madness! There are some great Netflix shows you can watch together with your date or have a Harry Potter movie marathon! If you’re feeling really EXTRA try and get a projector and project whatever you’re watching on a wall! Then it really feels like you’re in a movie theater, but in the comfort of your own home.

3. Spa night

Pick up some face masks and cucumbers for a relaxing night. I love to do face masks and what’s better way to spend Valentine’s day than relaxing at home with some face masks and your date? Another great idea is to look up some face masks you can make with ingredients you already have at home. They’re all natural and have great benefits! Once you got your face masks, put on a movie or some music and order some food because it’s going to be a chill night in for you two.

4. Game night

Find any board games you got laying around the house or even go pick up a few from the store for a fun night. My favorite games are Cards Against Humanity, Connect4 and Guess Who. Although it’s pretty much impossible to play Cards Against Humanity with two people, it’s still a really fun game if you have some gals coming over or a double date for Valentine’s day! If you don’t have any board games or aren’t a fan, try some video games or even different gambling games. Or even make up your own games with your date – that is really sexy!

5. Do-it-yourself (DIY) night

Gather all your arts and crafts for some Pinterest inspired DIY’s. My favorite thing to do is scroll through Pinterest and look at all the DIY’s and crafts. Most of the crafts are super easy and inexpensive too! There are some wicked cute Valentine’s crafts or even pick up some canvases and paint together! It’s super adorable to see your date’s creative side.
