I Don’t Get the Hype around Pumpkin Spice
Fall is a season when the leaves are changing into exuberant reds and yellows. A time for warm apple picking and cider donuts. Oh and we can’t forget Pumpkin Spice Season. Pumpkin spice is what many “white girls” look forward to when fall rolls around. Walking down the aisle in the grocery store, there’s everything you could possibly imagine flavored: pumpkin spice. There’s pumpkin spice cereal, pumpkin spice bread and even pumpkin spice cream cheese. But we can not forget the most important thing to Pumpkin Spice Season, the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Is it even fall without a pumpkin spice latte?
It seems that this is one of the things many people look forward to with the changing of seasons, but here is my deal, I truly do not get the hype and “freak out” over pumpkin spice. Don’t get me wrong, fall is my favorite season. I love apple picking and cider everything, but how is pumpkin spice any different from peppermint hot chocolate in the winter. Why is it that people obsess over pumpkin spice when it’s “That time of year?” Personally, I’m not a fan of the whole pumpkin spice flavor to everything, but that’s just me. If you like pumpkin spice go out and get everything in sight, I support your obsession. It is just something that I can not wrap my head around. Maybe I’m crazy, maybe it’s pumpkin spice.
