Spring is officially here, the season of rebirth and renewal! However, it can be hard get out of our winter slumps and into our spring selves! Here are my spring reset tips along with the best spring films and music to help us reflect on the amazing season to come!

Tips

My first tip for coming out of winter hibernation and into spring motivation is to take it slow! Don’t burn yourself out by doing too much too fast. Allow yourself to space out your activities and to-do lists. Spring cleaning can be incredibly effective to help de-clutter our spaces and physically move out the old and welcome in the new, but remember, this can mean different things for different people! You don’t have to throw away everything you own; you can start by putting away things you won’t need as the warm weather returns! Winter hats, boots, and heavy coats can say goodbye for now as you clear closet space for your favorite spring staples!

Another instance where it can be good to take your time is when staying active. As the temperatures rise, we often feel the need to prepare our “bikini bodies” for summer. The truth is, there is no such thing! Instead of working out for a “summer body”, work out for wellness! This is easier said than done but overworking your body can have some negative side effects like fatigue, decreased performance, and a weakened immune system! No one needs that as pollen returns! Instead try to take it easy. Go for a long walk in nature, a bike ride, or play sports with your friends! You may find that working out is even more enjoyable when you’re not setting unreasonable expectations for your body.

Another recommendation for embracing spring is to spice up one aspect of your look! A fresh haircut, new pair of shoes, or addition to your wellness routine can make your day-to-day life extra special! This can be as simple as reading a new book for 10 minutes before bed; a small activity that you can look forward to all day long.

Spring FILM + MUSIC Recommendations

Sometimes, the best thing to do to prepare yourself for a new season is to see it depicted in media! Spring movies always get me in a good mood with their bright colors and exciting plots. My recommendations for spring films include:

1.Emma (1996 or 2020)

2.The Princess Diaries

3. Marie Antionette

4. Ella Enchanted

5. The Sound of Music

6. 27 Dresses

7. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

8.The Princess Bride

Along with these classic films, you can add some whimsy to your daily life by creating your own soundtrack to spring! I recommend these albums:

1.Deeper Well by Kacey Musgraves

2.Harry’s House by Harry Styles

3.Wide Open Spaces by The Chicks

4.The Tortured Poets Department by Taylor Swift

5.The Art of Loving by Olivia Dean

6.Solar Power by Lorde

7. In Between Dreams by Jack Johnson

8. All of You by Colbie Caillat

Have an amazing spring!
