Materials & tools:

  • 2 pieces of 1-1 1/4 yds of fleece fabric (I recommend one plain piece of fleece and one design piece)
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Marker or pen

You can purchase the fleece at your local craft store such as Michaels or Joanne’s fabric store.

Step 1:

Lay out your fleece one on top of the other and trim off any excess so your pieces are the same size.

Step 2:

Cut out a square about 3-4 inches on each corner of the fleece.

Step 3:

Use your marker or pen to make dots at the very bottom of you fleece every 1-2 inches depending on how large you want the fringe to be.

Step 4:

Starting from the bottom of the fleece fabric where you made the previous dots, measure 3-4inches up and make a dot.

*you can skip steps 3 & 4 if you don’t need guidance on how to cut the blanket.

Step 5:

Cut the strips of fabric you just measured. (Make sure you cut both layers of fabric)

Step 6:

Tie the two layers of fabric strips together twice so it is double knotted.

Step 7:

Tie all the way around the blanket or only do one section at a time and repeat steps 3-6 for each section.

I hope you enjoy!
