Winter is one of the coziest times of the year. It’s a great opportunity to grab your friends or snuggle up with your guy, drink hot chocolate, and watch movies. But come on, collegiettes, does that mean that we don’t still want to go out and party and have a great time? No! But it can be hard to know how to look your best when it’s below freezing outside. Keep reading this article and you’ll get some great tips on how to look great and stay warm during the winter!
1. Rock some awesome tights/leggings
If it’s below freezing outside, it’s probably best to not wear a skirt. But if you want to rock that skirt, more power to you! Invest in some super cute tights or leggings. They’re all the rage right now, and they’ll keep you warm and jazz up your outfit!
2. Invest in some fleece lined leggings
If you decide to forgo wearing a skirt, get some fleece lined leggings. They are so warm! They are a godsend in the winter. You can pair them with a super cute top, and you’ll still be ready to rock that frat party, even without the mini skirt. They can be bought anywhere, from Target to Kohl’s to Anthropologie.
3. Wear a coat
Nothing is as chic as rocking a good peacoat on your way to the bars or to a party. They are deceptively warm, and you can just take it off once you get to where you’re going. A side note, if you’re going to a frat party and you’re afraid it might get stolen, here’s a trick I learned freshman year: go to Saver’s or Goodwill and buy a cheap coat. It may not be the cutest thing you’ve ever worn, but it will keep you warm and it’s less likely to be stolen!
4. Boots, boots, boots
As you probably know, there are so many different types of boots that can look great with jeans, leggings, or skirts! They are the perfect footwear for the winter. If you’ve got a long walk or if it’s really cold out, you can wear wool socks with them and your feet will be extra warm. Be careful of boots with heels though, if it’s icy out.
5. Stick handwarmers in your pockets
You can buy disposable handwarmers at Walmart, Walgreen’s, or any store like that. Stick them in your coat pockets while you’re walking to your party and your hands will stay nice and toasty!
