What is your position at The New Hampshire (TNH) and what is your favorite part of the job?
I am the Managing Editor at TNH. My favorite part of the position is making the front page of the paper.
How did you originally get involved with TNH and how long have you been with the newspaper?
I started off contributing stories and graphics to TNH first semester sophomore year. After contributing a few graphics, Nick Stoico the executive editor at the time, asked if I had any interest in becoming a design editor. I said yeah why not but had NO idea what I was getting into. After the first production night, that lasted until 3 a.m, I thought I had made a mistake. However, I quickly became addicted and made amazing friends with the rest of the staff. After the year finished I decided to apply for managing editor and, well…Here I am.
What is your favorite part of being part of the TNH staff?
Production night
What is production night?
Production night is every Wednesday and Sunday when we put together the paper. We are usually up really late, but we are all really close and have a great time.
If someone wanted to get involved with TNH how would they do so?
Come to a contributors meeting in the newsroom (MUB 136) on any Monday night at 8 p.m. If you have any specific questions you can email me at TNH.me@unh.edu
We’ve heard that you just created your own blog! Where did your inspiration for that come from and what kinds of things do you post?
Yes- I just launched my blog New England Girl. It’s a blog and youtube channel on beauty, fashion, DIY, dance, travel and my everyday thoughts.
I was originally inspired years ago by the youtube star Bethany Mota. She has amazing video editing skills and I love how her personality really shows in each youtube video. I really wanted to start something like that… It just took me a little while to build up the courage to actually go for it.
