Grey’s Anatomy

If you haven’t already seen this show, this is your sign to watch it! I had heard about Grey’s Anatomy before, but I just recently started watching it over winter break. In the six weeks I was home and working a full-time job nine hours a day, I still managed to complete nine out of the 17 seasons. Yes! It’s that good. The series is tailored around a group of interns who eventually will become surgeons. Now you may be thinking, “Another medical show? Each episode will be so repetitive.” Not with Grey’s Anatomy! There’s a surprise in every episode making it hard to stop watching. There were definitely some nights I didn’t go to bed until two or three in the morning because I physically couldn’t pause the show.

The 100

This show I am currently still watching, and every episode continues to take me by surprise. It falls under the Sci-Fi genre, which I’m typically not interested in, but this show is something else. When a nuclear apocalypse destroys life on Earth, the only survivors left are forced into space where they will continue to live the next three generations. After time has passed, survivors transcend from their space stations to see if Earth is livable once again, as they are running out of oxygen in space. Survivors are forced to make do with whatever materials they can find on Earth but run into several others who have survived as well. This show will continue to pull you in deeper and deeper every episode with its suspense, drama and thrill.

American Horror Story

For anyone who enjoys a good scare, this show would be perfect for you! I’ve watched this show in its entirety a total of four times because I’m just so obsessed with it. Each season is different and caters to a specific theme, however the same characters are used in each of the nine seasons. My favorite season is called Coven and focuses on witches and learning how to use their powers. Stevie Nicks makes an appearance in this season and who doesn’t love her?

Atypical

If you enjoy a good heartfelt comedy, I highly recommend this show. The show focuses on Sam, a teenager with Autism, as he hunts for love. His sister is nothing but supportive while Sam tries to be a “normal” teenager. The family works to adjust and support Sam as he experiences independence for the first time. I highly recommend everyone to watch this show as it’s not only funny and sweet, but it also gives you a look at the struggles and challenges people with Autism experience in their every day lives.

Bates Motel

If you love suspense, then this show was made for you! I absolutely love this series because of how unique it is from any other show out there. It’s a remaking of Alfred Hitchcock’s film Psycho. It focuses on a mother, Norma, and her son, Norman, as they settle in a new town and start fresh by running a hotel. Already you get the creeps, knowing how similar their names are, and believe me, it gets even creepier. The son has many psychological issues that are visible throughout the series. With all the suspense, thrill, and drama, it makes it hard to shut off the tv. I highly recommend this series if you’re looking for something different to watch.
