Oh my god, it’s happening, everyone stay calm. John Krasinski just made the world smile during a time where it seems like it’s impossible.

20th Century Fox Television / Giphy

If you don’t know what I’m talking about then I encourage you to check out his YouTube channel, Some Good News. About a month ago on March 29th, John Krasinki created a web series with the intent of solely reporting some good news. It all started when Krasinski tweeted to his fans asking them to share some joy in their lives, and in the words of Krasinski “And boy, did you deliver”.

After watching the first episode, it brought a genuine smile to my face. The very first episode Krasinski hosted he started off by saying “Enough is enough world. Why not us, why not now. So, ladies and gentlemen, this is your fault, and this is SGN. I’m John Krasinski and if it isn’t clear yet, I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing. And now for Some Good News.” And first of all, if that didn’t put a smile on your face already, then I bet you this will. He highlights some of the good news that his fans submitted to him and it was truly amazing. Just when you think it couldn’t get better Steve Carrell joins Krasinski for an interview we didn’t know we needed until it was happening. Marking the 15th anniversary of the show, The Office,  the iconic duo reminisce on their favorite moments of the show (that were hilarious of course) and also the most emotional #RIPMichael. The connection these two have added an awesome touch and I wish it never ended. Then he gets to his favorite news. And I’m going to let you go watch and find out who his newest hero is.

Every episode of Some Good News not only shares the positivity happening around the world, but also, has guest appearances from celebrities and they aren’t your ordinary interviews. The celebrities that have made an appearance definitely changed a few lives. Like the original cast of the musical Hamilton; performing for a little girl who just wanted to see her favorite musical on Broadway. And Red Sox player, David Ortiz, provided 5 health care workers a trip to Fenway where they were given lifetime season tickets. But not only that, famous chefs, including Guy Fieri, made recipes that were sent in by fans, and so much more. Krasinski has gone above and beyond.

Even Krasinski himself has been giving back. I think the best one was the Live Virtual Prom Krasinski hosted for all the high schoolers that aren’t able to have one. I have a sister and friends that aren’t able to have their prom and let me tell you, what he pulled off was definitely an unforgettable night for them. There were promposals, amazing decorations, stunning gowns, and special performances by the Jonas Brothers, Billie Ellish, and Chance The Rapper. It was definitely a successful social-distancing dance. And up next for Krasinki’s acts of kindness….. A VIRTUAL GRADUATION. I personally can’t wait to see what he has in store.

I encourage everyone to check out the other episodes in the web series Some Good News or at least go see the SGN sign his daughters made. I wish I could thank John Krasinski personally but I don’t think I’d be able to gather the words to express how this is the perfect example of a selfless act of kindness, that managed to touch over 2 million people’s lives. This web series has definitely been the highlight of not only mine but my family’s last couple of weeks. We look forward to the new episodes and become more and more amazed at how kind and thoughtful you have been to every one. You single-handedly came up with the best thing since Jim and Pam’s wedding. I speak for a lot of people in saying that we all lost a little part of our lives, some more than others, but to know that someone is putting so much time and effort into making us laugh and giving us a little hope, is truly inspiring. Thank you, John Krasinski.
