5 Reasons to Make the Jump

Most of my life has been based on making the safe, practical decisions even when these decisions did not fulfill me. I found myself nearing the end of my college career at a school I chose solely because financially it made sense. I realized I was nowhere near where I wanted to be. I had heard so many stories about people who were unhappy with their lives that just packed up and left and I wanted to be one of them.

1. There are so many places to see.

There are so many places to go and see in this world. You will never know what else is out there if you stay in one place.

2. Change is a good thing.

Change is a good thing. Change can be scary, but it creates new opportunities for us.

3. Independence.

A lot of people say they gained a sense of independence when they moved away. They were alone but not lonely. The experience is often freeing and teaches you all sorts of new things.

4. You won’t see your ex at the bar.

We all have that one ex we don’t want to see when we go out but somehow always seem to run into.

5. You might find exactly what you are looking for.

Sometimes we feel like something is missing but we don’t know what. You just might stumble upon something you didn’t know you needed.

While I haven’t made the jump completely, I signed a lease for an apartment 1,026 miles away. I don’t know exactly what I’m going to do when I get there but if not now, then when?
