  1. Spend a cozy morning indoors

Snow days are the best time to catch up on some extra sleep after a long week of classes and late-night studying. It’s great to spend a stress-free and class-free morning sleeping in and waking up to the fresh snowfall on a cold winter morning. A late breakfast or even brunch in your dorm or apartment is great too, even better when you can stay warm and wear pajamas. Throw in some self-care, clean your room, and even do some laundry while you’re at it. A snow day can be relaxing and productive if you make it!

  1. Snarty!

On the other hand, you could get up, get active, and grab your friends for a fun day of “snartying.” One of the best ways to enjoy the New Hampshire winter is to get social outside at a snarty while the snow falls around you. As someone who just experienced their first snarty, I think it’s definitely a great idea. Go sledding, play party games outside, and meet new people while you have the best time in the snow. It’s also a great opportunity to get bundled up in your winter gear and take some cute pictures with your friends.

  1. Have a movie day

If you’re someone that wants to avoid the cold, a nice movie day inside is always a great way to spend your time. A rom-com with the girls with popcorn and snacks in the dorm can be a core memory and bonding experience. Personally, I’ve been loving Love Island All Stars, and I don’t believe you can go wrong with spending your day watching British reality television.

  1. Catch up on homework

Of course, you can’t forget about all of the school work your professors have assigned. Take some time in your snow day to get everything done and catch up on any late work. You could even get a little study session going with your roommates and neighbors while you’re at it. If you have to do homework on a snow day, you might as well make it fun!

  1. Spend time outside

If the snow is falling or is freshly on the ground, put your jacket and boots on and have fun! Even though we’re in college, I think it’s still okay to play in the snow like little kids. Build a snow fort, make snow angels, and enjoy the winter weather on your college campus without the stress of attending your classes. If you feel like braving the coastal winter winds and snowfall, you could go ice skating, skiing, or even a walk through the freshly snow covered college woods!
