21 Things I Wish I Knew as a Freshman

  1. That senior year was going to come this fast.
  2. The gym is busiest before 10am and after 4pm     
  3. Do your laundry in the dorms! Even if you live off campus, it is WAY cheaper!
  4. Hoco is for sightseeing and people watching, Stillings is where you go when you don’t have anyone to eat with, and Philbrook is for when you are hungry and want a lot of options.
  5. If you are drinking off campus and need a ride home call Safe Rides, it’s free! 603-365-6406, DON’T drink and drive!
  6. You’re not missing out! Even though you may think you are, there is always another party.
  7.  GO ABROAD and START SAVING NOW!!
  8. Stop going home on the weekends.
  9. Go to all the free stuff on campus, no one can deny free food or a free t shirt
  10. The Diamond Library is going to become your best friend, start getting to know it as soon as you can.
  11. Just because everyone else is doing it doesn’t mean you have to
  12. Support your school and go to sporting events
  13. Find a balance between school, work, friends, fun, and boys
  14. GO TO UNIVERSITY DAY!
  15. STDs are real.
  16. Watch your image, people will remember. This school is not as big as you think it is.
  17. Please don’t walk in packs with backpacks; we ALL know you are freshman.
  18. La Festa. BEST pizza ever. It’s in Dover. Find it.
  19. UNH is EVIL when it comes to parking. If you are a few minutes late to your meter, you WILL have a ticket.
  20. Dressing up for class is overrated.
  21. Be careful of boys. Period
New Jersey native, Stephanie, is a junior in the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire. She is majoring in Business Administration with a dual concentration in Marketing and International Business & Economics. She loves the city and lived there last summer while interning for Ann Taylor. Stephanie loves sushi and Starbucks lattes. She is also a proud member of Alpha Phi and currently serves as the Treasurer on the Panhellenic Council.
