Studies have proven that music can be a great way to boost your mood, so here are my favorite songs I like to listen to to get myself back on track!

“Annie’s Song” by John Denver

When I think of the word “pure”, I think of this song. Whether it’s the endearing lyrics or uplifting instrumentals, I adore it.
“Annie’s Song” feels very nostalgic, and I was introduced to it because my family loves John Denver.

“Lover” by Taylor Swift

I remember when I first heard “Lover”, the day it came out, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. You can feel how much Taylor has grown through her relationship with Joe Alwyn, and this song shows how deeply she loves him and appreciates being abe to be herself wholeheartedly with him.

“Golden Hour” by Kacey Musgraves

Golden Hour is such a magical time of day, and this song encapsulates it with lyrics like “I love the light that I found in you” and “You set my world on fire/and I know, I know everything’s going to be alright”.

“Dance To This” by Ariana Grande and Troye Sivan

Very appropriately, this song truly makes you want to dance- with the upbeat melody and lyrics, and blend of Ariana and Troye’s voices it’s impossible not to.

“You’re My Best Friend” by Queen

Queen has written some of the greatest songs of all time, and this is no exception. This song is about a different kind of love, for the friends in your life who are always there for you, no matter what. Those kind of friends are hard to find, and should always be appreciated.

“Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles

This song embodies the feeling of a warm summer day with no responsibilities, even in the cold depths of daylight-savings November.

“What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong

This song reminds you to look at the beauty of the world, even if you can’t see it at the moment.

“Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole

I feel like everyone has heard this amazing song, and I can’t imagine being in a bad mood after listening to it.

“Don’t Dream It’s Over” by Crowded House

This song is about how even if the world tries to knock you down, you have to keep going. Although it has a sense of melancholiness, it is also reassuring and calm in that everything will be okay.

“Sing” by Travis

I found this song at the end of an episode of The Office, and the message is to “sing” and try to be happy, even when things aren’t going well. It has an inspiring message, and the chorus makes the song.

“Don’t You (Forget About Me)” by Simple Minds

This song is very empowering, and can give you the energy to continue your day.

Electric Love by Børns

I can’t explain why I love this song so much, but I can imagine this song being the perfect backdrop for a roadtrip with your best friends.

“High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco

My favorite lyric is “Stay up on that rise/Stay up on that rise and never come down”, which really encapsulates the theme of this song.

“Dancing Queen” by ABBA

This list would not be complete without an ABBA song, and what song makes you feel happier than “Dancing Queen”??

“Future Looks Good” by OneRepublic

I really enjoy the repetition of the lyrics “I swear that you are, you are the future/And the future looks good”. This song is very motivational, and promotes feeling confident about yourself and what you can accomplish.
