The start of a new year can be a great time to develop new habits and hobbies! I like to journal every day because it helps me reflect on what has been happening in my life. Journaling is a wonderful way to take all of your thoughts and ideas and put them on paper. It is also a great way to document your dreams and goals. One of my favorite things to do is to look back at old journals and see what has changed and what hasn’t. Not sure how to get started journaling? Here are 12 journal prompts to get you started!

  1. How are you feeling today?

  2. What or who inspires you? Why?

  3. What is your favorite inspirational quote?

  4. What is your favorite activity to do?

  5. Who (or what) are you thankful for. (Gratitude journaling is shown to improve your mood!)

  6. What makes you happy? Define what happiness means to you.

  7. What is your favorite song? Why?

  8. Who is your role model? What do you admire about them?

  9. Start with “The biggest lesson I have learned is…” and keep writing.

  10. What is your dream vacation? Where would you go? What would you do?

  11. Journal about a favorite memory

  12. Create a list of your proudest accomplishments

Remember there is no wrong way to journal. Your journal is yours and you can write about whatever you wish.
