10 Ways to Cope with the Stress of Online Learning

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Even though we are all somewhat used to online classes by now, returning for another semester of Zoom University is causing a lot of mixed emotions for college students. Whether you’re at home or on campus, being cooped up inside and looking at a computer screen for hours would drive anyone insane. One thing I’ve had to learn during college classes in the middle of a pandemic is how to deal with stress in a COVID-friendly way. Here is a list of 10 things you can do to cope with the stress during this very interesting time of college learning:

  1. Take a walk outside around campus or your neighborhood

  2. Bake something

  3. Watch an episode (or season) of your favorite show

  4. Organize your desk or clean out that clutter that’s been bothering you

  5. Meditate or follow an at-home YouTube workout

  6. Have a dance party with your roommate(s)

  7. Cross things off your list that aren’t school related so you feel less overwhelmed

  8. FaceTime your family or hometown friends

  9. Do some self care like face masks or paint your nails

  10. Take a long shower, blast music, and belt out your favorite songs
