1.) Bad hair days and bad moods go hand in hand
Don’t get annoyed with us because we are being irritating, over dramatic, or sassy. Also don’t automatically think it is that time of the month. We like to look good, if we think we don’t, then we don’t… in our minds.
2.) When we say “I’m fine” we are really everything but fine
Fine is never a good word to use. It is not a word we look forward to hearing if we ask how we look. You should probably know that too. But more importantly, if we already hate the word ‘fine’ then why would we use it to describe the way we feel?
3.) The meaning of “It’s up to you”
It IS up to you but we are really hoping you will make the right decision- which is ultimately the one we have brought up to you.
4.) When we tell you to “just go away!”, Don’t.
If you actually leave we are going to be even more enraged than we were before. If you leave when we tell you to go away, be prepared to hear, “You’re really just going to walk away from me!?”, “Do you even care about me?”
5.) If we tell you we love you and you love us back, you sure as hell better act like it.
Remember these three key concepts: actions speak louder than words, show me respect when I am around and even more so when I’m not, and honesty is one thing that will never come back to bite you in the ass.
6.) Big romantic gestures are not always the way to go
Sometimes it’s just a look, a big bear hug or a moment that shows us that you would do anything to be with us, even if it means being there by our side even when you don’t want to.
7.) Sometimes we just need a hug, or space.
It is up to you to figure it out. After all, we expect that you know us well enough to decode our moods.
8.) We will judge you, and ourselves by the girls you’ve dated before us
We will look them up on Facebook and analyze their pictures (and yours). If they aren’t good enough for you we will wonder what your taste was before us, and if they are too perfect, we will wonder why you’re dating us.
9.) If we think we look bad, there is no convincing us otherwise.
Let us change five times or ten. Trust me it will be a much better night for both of us.
10.) Sometimes we just need you to tell us the obvious.
It never hurts to reassure us. Tell us you love us and that you want to be with us. Better yet, show us and tell us.
