We met this week’s cutie at last week’s Canvas Live event hosted by Resolution. We were blown away at his talent as he sang and played guitar at the front of the makeshift Starbucks stage, and we immediately became fans!Â

HC: When did you start playing the guitar?
MN: I started playing the guitar around my sophomore year of high school (around 4 years ago).
HC: What draws you most to music?
MN:Â I’m drawn by the emotion that can be portrayed with music, whether it be sadness happiness or anything like that. I feel as though it speaks to me.
HC: What’s your favorite quote, or a motto that you live by?
MN: I always tell other people and myself, “do what makes you happy” because at the end of the day, if you’re not happy, then what’s the point?
HC: What do you like more, playing the guitar or singing?
MN:Â I think I prefer singing over playing the guitar, mainly because I can do it anywhere. Can’t exactly play the guitar in the shower!
HC: What is your most listened to song?
MN: The song that I’ve listened to most is probably “Shadow” by Sam Tsui. I love the production of it and I just can’t stop listening to it.Â
HC: What’s one song that you’re pretty embarrassed to know all of the words to?
MN: It’d probably be between “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton, or “SOS” by the Jonas Brothers.Â
HC: Give me three things that you know to be true.
MN:Â
- I know that if you try and bend an iPhone 6, chances are it’ll bend.
- Just because a shampoo may smell like strawberries doesn’t mean it tastes like strawberries.
- Orange juice is more yellow than it is orange.Â
HC: What’s the nicest thing that someone can say about you?
MN: I don’t really know how to answer this. I guess “I believe in you,” or “You did great.” Those words cease to make me feel good.Â
HC: What song makes you feel amazing, and why?
MN:Â I’d say as of now “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson, and Bruno Mars makes me feel great. It’s just so live and upbeat and it makes me feel good. I love the whole “live” and “big band” sound.
HC: What is your favorite song to sing (right now)?Â
MN:Â My favorite song to sing is probably “Don’t Want an Ending” by Sam Tsui. It’s a relatively emotional song, but regardless I love it.
