Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is almost here. For those who do have a date, and for those who don’t, here are a few destinations in Wilmington that will be sure to make the day special for anyone.

All dressed up but nowhere to go?  If you have a date for Valentine’s day, but you’re still not sure where to spend the evening, make reservations for you and your significant other at River Boat Landing Restaurant in historic downtown Wilmington.  This Wilmington landmark is described as a restaurant with, “French, Mediterranean and Asian influences.”  You can even reserve a table on an outside balcony overlooking the Cape Fear River, how romantic?

So maybe you don’t have a date for Valentine’s Day–who needs boys anyway?  Make your own chocolate covered strawberries by reserving a table for you and a friend at The Little Dipper before a night out on the town.  Located in downtown Wilmington, this Fondue restaurant has an entertaining atmosphere that is like no other in Wilmington.

What is Valentine’s Dinner without dessert?  Unless of course you decided to go to The Little Dipper, then you may skip this step.  Wilmington’s Kilwins Chocolates & Ice Cream is sure to put that sweet tooth craving into high gear.  Also located in downtown Wilmington, Kilwin’s has been a Wilmington landmark for many years. The aroma of delicious chocolates and treats wafts into the streets welcoming passersby. From candy-covered apples to a wide assortment of ice cream, Kilwin’s has it all.

For those of you who want to keep the evening simple, staying in is always an option. Show your love by making a home-cooked Valentine’s dinner for your significant other.  End the night with a romantic walk on the beautiful coast of Wrightsville Beach.  Located just outside of Wilmington.

So, whether you’re a homebody or you like the idea of spending Valentine’s Day downtown, there’s several evening options to choose from. Grab your lover, or perhaps your cat, and make this Valentine’s Day one to remember!
