A Typical School Week, as Told by “The Office”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCW chapter.

My philosophy is this: You either love the TV show The Office or you’ve never seen it.  It is by far one of the best shows on television and my all time favorite series.  It’s hilarious, relatable, and oh-so binge-worthy.  The characters on The Office are all quirky in their own way, and I feel like I relate to them constantly.  Sometimes I’m Pam, other times I’m Dwight. Occasionally, I’m even Kevin. The Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company staff is so relatable, they are perfect to demonstrate how a typical school week goes for a college student.

MONDAY:

Oh, Monday.  The “Toby” of the week.  Some people can wake up on Mondays bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready and refreshed to start a new week. I, however, am not one of these people.  Sometimes Monday needs a good smash in the face, just like Toby (sorry, pal).

TUESDAY:

Tuesdays are interesting because everyone has a different opinion on them.  Some people like Tuesdays because they are one day closer to Friday.  Others believe Tuesday is Monday’s evil cousin; especially when you wake up from a great dream thinking it’s Wednesday until you sadly realize, “Oh wait, it’s only Tuesday.”  Oh, joy!  By this day though, most of us are making faces just like Stanley’s.  We’re right there with you Stanley.  Is it Pretzel Day yet?

WEDNESDAY:

By Wednesday, we’re already over it.  Wednesday is that dreaded halfway point to freedom.  We’ve made it this far, but we still have quite some time to go. Two more days until freedom.

THURSDAY:

Ah, Thursday, also known as “Pre-Friday.”  Thursday is such a tease.  It’s not quite the end of the week, but we’re so close to the weekend it’s hard not to be excited.  Of course, we’re almost totally useless on Thursdays.  Who can focus on class when it’s almost the weekend?!

FRIDAY:

WE DID IT EVERYBODY, IT’S FRIDAY!  It’s hard not to jump out of our desks and break into a happy dance when our last class of the day is over. It’s officially the weekend. Whether your idea of a great weekend is a wild frat party or a Netflix binge marathon, it’s time to forget about classes for 48 hours and enjoy the weekend.

BONUS – How we feel on Sunday:

You can watch The Office (U.S.) on Netflix and Hulu.

Rachel is probably rereading the Percy Jackson books, watching comedy specials on Netflix, or petting a dog right about now. Sometimes, she's doing all three.
