When we were younger, Halloween was a day that we anticipated with excitement—boats of candy corn, carved pumpkins, crazy costumes and weeks of Halloween movies on Disney channel was more than enough to keep us happy.

Take the time to be a kid again and have a movie day with our list of the top five Halloween movies of our childhood.

1.Halloweentown (1998): In this must-see Disney movie, the main character, Marnie, finds out that she is a witch. She then discovers a magic portal and gets transported to Halloweentown—a magical world where ghosts, witches and werewolves live in harmony.

2.Hocus Pocus (1993): Disney is at it again, in Hocus Pocus. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy act as three crazy witches who have returned from the 17th-century Salem after they were accidentally summoned by a few teenage pranksters.

3. Casper (1995): Casper the friendly ghost is a definite throw-back from childhood. Who can forget Carrigan Crittenden (Cathy Moriarty) and her insane lawyer, Paul “Dibs” Plutzker (Eric Idle) trying to get their hands on the “treasure” left at Whipstaff Manor, only to discover that there was one friendly ghost along with three other obnoxious goons haunting the place. A ghost hunter is called in and Casper falls in love with his daughter, Kat Harvey (Christina Ricci).

4.Beetlejuice (1988): Tim Burton is an awesome director and has made several hard-to-forget films including Beetlejuice. In this American comedy horror fantasy film, a young deceased couple haunt their former home and Michael Keaton plays a “bio-exorcist” from the underworld named Beetlejuice as he tries to scare away the new owners of the home.

5. Corpse Bride (2005): Years after his hit with Beetlejuice, Burton directed yet another great fantasy horror film—the Corpse Bride. Johnny Depp voices for the main character, Victor, and Helena Bonham Carter voices for Victor’s soon-to-be wife, Emily. Before Victor’s wedding, he practices his vows in the woods while placing the ring on a nearby upturned tree root. The tree root rises and turns out to be the finger of a dead girl wearing a tattered bridal gown who claims to now be Victor’s wife.
