It’s near the end of cuffing season! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and it is a very polarizing holiday. For some of us, the pressure to be in a relationship (if you’re no already) increases if you’re single and could potentially lead to feelings of lonliness. But wherever you fall on this scale, one thing’s for sure: the best thing to stem from Valentine’s Day isn’t the flowers or massive teddy bears; it’s Galentine’s Day! No matter your relationship status, you can always have an annual get together with the lovely ladies in your life. I rounded up some of my best friends and we put together some ingredients for the perfect Galentine’s Day.
- Desserts! (And Drinks If You’re Over 21)

The first rule of Galentine’s is that dieting flies out the window! With your girls, indulge in all the chocolates and desserts you could ever dream of—maybe even make some desserts together! If you’re of legal drinking age, feel free to complement the chocolate with a glass of your favorite wine or mixed drink.
- Get Outside

This might not be the best thing to do if you’ve indulged in a drink or two, but one of my favorite things to do with my friends is to go for a walk outside. Here in Wilmington, it’s already warm, so take your favorite girls out and go for a hike! Appreciate each other and the beautiful outdoors.
- Pampering

After going outside, pamper yourselves! Do face masks, paint your nails and catch up with each other! Everyone loves a relaxing break, and a face mask is the perfect excuse to not do anything for a while.
- Rom-Coms Galore

After pampering yourselves, grab the biggest, coziest blanket you can find, cuddle up, turn on Netflix and start binging romantic comedies! My friends and I like to find the absolute worst rom-com possible and then thoroughly enjoy it. The horrible plotlines and acting lend themselves to some great inside jokes later!
- Love Letters

No one to write a letter to this year? No problem! Show your ladies exactly how much you appreciate them by writing each other love letters! They end up super cute, and you can keep them in a scrapbook for memories or display them on your walls!

Of course the most important part of any great Galentine’s Day is a great group of gals to share it with. Grab your day-ones, or maybe some girls you want to get to know better, and have a day just for the ladies!
