Kickin’ for a Cause!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCW chapter.

It’s that time of year again! The sisters of Phi Mu are excited to announce their 4th annual “Kick it with Phi Mu.” Each year, this event not only raises money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, but also brings the community together in a unique way. Stop by our table on Chancellor’s all week to make a team!  It’s only $15 per player with a shirt or $10 without!

This kickball tournament will be taking place on October 15 at Roland Grise Middle School (4412 Lake Ave, Wilmington), across from Hugh MacRae Park.  Here, teams will compete against each other until there is one overall winning team. Along with friendly competition, there will be food supplied by PT’s Grill from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., just in case you need a break from all that kickin’!

Along with the tournament, we will be hosting our first ever Kick It “Kook Out” a day before the big event on October 14 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Kook Out tickets will be $5 and can be bought at our table on Chancellor’s the week before (October 10 through 14), or from any sister. Along with yummy food, fun raffle prizes will be given away throughout the night. The “Kook Out” will be located at Shelter #6 at Hugh MacRae Park.  Here, you will also be able to pick up your pre-ordered t-shirts for the big day.

Don’t forget to stop by our percentage night on October 12 at Moe’s on Military Cutoff!  We will be there all day, and 20% of your meal total will go toward the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals!
