Get Your Run On With The Wrightsville Beach Turkey Trot

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCW chapter.

For those of you looking for something new and fun to do this Thanksgiving season, look no further! The Wrightsville Beach Turkey Trot is the perfect way to celebrate with friends, family and even your pets!

In honor of Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity’s 30th Anniversary this year, Wrightsville Beach is hosting the annual Turkey Trot as a way to celebrate the holidays and to raise money for this incredible organization! Last year the event had over 2,700 people participate and was able to raise a record amount for the amazing organization. The Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity hopes to have an even better turn out this year and you can help them!

The Turkey Trot will be held on the morning of Thanksgiving at 8:30 AM at Wrightsville Beach! There will be two possible races you can participate in, the 5k or the 1 Mile Fun Run. Those who choose to run the 5k will be taken around the scenic Loop and will be competing for a time. Those who run the 1 Mile Fun Run will be able to participate without stressing out about a time!

Tickets are on sale until the morning of the race but prices vary depending on when they are purchased. The 5k tickets range from $40-45 while the 1 Mile Fun Run ranges from $25-30. If you or someone you know would be interested in participating, feel free to help the cause! What better way to give thanks than to give back to the community!
