Now that Labor Day has passed, it is safe to say I’m excited to be one step closer to fall. If you are like me, fall is your favorite season for fashion. Unfortunately, we live in a beach town where it will not be cool out until (hopefully) after Halloween. But it is all good! We can still wear our fall styles and drink our PSLs, we are just going to sweat a little!

The runway has been predicting what will be the hottest trends in the season coming up. Fashion Week as well showcased many hot fall fashion trends. So time to put away the summer outfits and get some fall inspo for your closet! Here are the top four must have trends for the season.

1. Plaid

Plaid or what others call “checks” will take many forms this season, meaning we must channel our inner Blair Waldorf’s and Cher Horowitz’s. This trend has to be my favorite for the season.

2. Animal print

Erase your stereotypes of animal print being so 2009 Jersey Shore club attire. Animal print is a must have for this season; Cheetah and leopard will be the top animal print designs. From skirts, dresses, pants and even shoes, animal print is a very sophisticated look.

3. The grunge look

The 90s style is definitely back and is another very popular look. From the funky pants to the black boots, the grunge look will slay this fall.

4. Corduroy overalls & skirts

Another favorite of mine is corduroy overalls paired with a skirt. I think it is a classic fall look and must have for the coming season. It can be paired with a chunky sweater and boots when there’s a little chill in the air.
