Fall is here and that means a string of holidays are about to appear, and luckily Halloween is first. This means crazy parties, costumes, candy and tons of crafty creations are just a few weeks within our grasp.
To get into the festive spirit, try decorating your dorm or apartment with these creative and inexpensive ideas. From traditional fall accessories to doomsday decorations, we’ve got you covered.
For the traditional fall lover:
1.  A Carved pumpkin: Carving a pumpkin is not only a fun thing to do with all of your friends, but it’s also a great way to decorate with a little personality. There are plenty of inexpensive pumpkin carving kits available for purchase.
2.  An autumn leaf wreath: This is super easy and a really pretty decoration when it’s finished. Just collect leaves from around campus, buy a Styrofoam ring and glue or pin the leaves to the ring until it’s covered.
3. Â Bedazzle, glitter and paint: Get together with a bunch of your girlfriends and decorate a squash, gourd or pumpkin with one of your favorite themes. Need an idea? Check out this Chanel inspired pumpkin!
4. Â Fall-inspired scented candles: Place a few fall-inspired scented candles in your apartment to have an all-day aroma of pumpkin spice, apple cider, or cinnamon wafting from room to room. Not allowed to have candles? No problem, reed diffusers are a great way to get the scent without the risk of a fire.
5.  Set the table: Name cards are great for dinner parties, and they’re super easy to make. Just get together some construction paper (earth tones) and cut out shapes of pumpkins, leaves or apples, then write your friends’ names on the cards. Napkins can also be color coordinated to fit into you fall-inspired theme.

For the Horror film lover:
1. Â Ghost lanterns: These are cute, simple and will make the outside of your apartment look ready for the holiday. Just draw ghost faces on a few empty milk jugs with a sharpie, fill them with twinkle lights and set them outside to greet your visitors.
2.  Spider jar: If you’re more into insects and scaring your guests, place a few jars with plastic bugs inside around your room or apartment. Place a few on the outside as well to startle your guests.
3.  Blood & gore: Squirt some ketchup or “blood” on a cardboard grave and set it near the door to greet your friends.
4.  Famous spider web: Spider webs can be found at most department stores in the party section—if you’re up to the task, try lacing it around your room or porch.
5. Â Gruesome candy: Everyone loves candy, but make it fun and put out a few gummy brains and fingers.
