Many of us are no stranger to sitting down and watching a season, or two, of a TV show on Netflix or Hulu or whatever our preferred medium is. Recently I have found myself in a TV show slump and cannot seem to find a new show I can get into. In light of this dilemma, I have decided to share some of my favorites with you.

First, I will share my favorite comedies, but to be fair you all should know this is my favorite genre. My most watched show is Parks and Recreation. It is hilarious and has a great cast impossible to tear yourself away from. I am on my third time watching the series and I recommend it for any comedy lovers out there. 30 Rock is another great laugh with an incredible cast. Being another great one, you’ll need to set aside time to binge watch because you won’t be able to stop! When you have finished these two, be sure to check out How I Met Your Mother, while this show is hilarious, it is also impossible not to connect with the characters on an emotional level. You will be so sad at the series finale, and if you are anything like me, will want to start the whole thing over. Another great aspect of HIMYM is the themes and jokes that stretch the entirety of the series, making it worth multiple watches to make sure you catch them all!

Next, I will mention of few of my favorite crime related dramas, my second favorite genre. Bones, while not for those who are squirmish, is definitely worth some good binges. The cast, while often changing, is lovable and everything I want in my future work family. Criminal Minds, like Bones, is emotionally draining but well worth the toil. The team is another work family that I dream of and they grow and change throughout the series beautifully. Both of these are great options if you’re looking for a new show or to rewatch. You will definitely not regret either.

While this is a very short list of the good shows out there, I hope it helps those of you in a TV show slump. So the next time you’re laying in bed trying to figure out what to watch, give one of these a try! I hope you love them as much as I do!
