Money isn’t really easy to come by in college. Unless you have a job, work study, or your parents are nice enough to give you an allowance, our wallets are usually empty. But it doesn’t always have to be this way.
Here are some simple ways to hustle and make money in college:
Take a survey
There’s a whole bunch of websites that are willing to pay you for your thoughts on a survey. This website has a list of paid surveys that you can take.
While you’re searching for these surveys, always double check to see if the website is legit.
Do a psychology experiment
UNCG has a ton of psychology experiments that will pay for your time. The compensation can range anywhere from $20 to $100. I completed one during freshman year and made $25 just from answering questions about my college experience. So if you have some free time, check these out and see if they interest you.
Sell your clothes
You know that saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure?” Well, it also applies to those clothes and shoes we keep saying that we’ll wear but never do.
If you’re in need of some quick cash, you can sell your old clothes at a store like Plato’s Closet. Or if you’d like to be more in charge of your prices, try selling on apps like Poshmark or Depop. The money will just start flowing.
These next two options are for my creatives looking for a way to make money off their craft.
Photography
If you have a passion for photography and need a way to make some money, this one’s for you. Someone is always in need of a photographer, so you should try marketing your photography on social media or any UNCG group chats. Also, when graduation season rolls in, let people know about your photography. If your portfolio is dope and your prices are right, your clientele will only continue to grow.
Sell or commission your art
In this digital age, it is so easy to have your art be seen. So, you might as well take commissions or sell your art to your supporters. There are plenty of apps and websites to choose from. All it takes is a click of a button to get started on your business.
