6 Must-Have Songs You Need On Your Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCC chapter.

A good playlist is the one thing that helps me get through any day, whether a good one or a bad one. So, open up your Spotify or Apple Music and get ready to make a new playlist because these songs are essential to add!

1. I Hate Love Songs by Kelsea Ballerini

She answered our prayers, Kelsea Ballerini just released a new album and it is definitely one to jam to. I suggest listening to the whole thing, but my this is my favorite song off of it. This song is for the girls who really hate love songs but love someone enough to realize that they’re actually pretty bearable.

2. Take Back Home Girl by Chris Lane ft. Tori Kelly

Tori Kelly is one of my favorite female artists hands down, but totally unbiased – this song is amazing. It really makes you want to roll down the windows, throw your feet on the dash and sing as loud as you can. It’s a song about a guy taking a girl home to meet his parents and if that’s not a cute enough reason to listen to, the beat also has an addictive groove to it.

3. Too Good At Goodbyes by Sam Smith

Okay, I know you’ve all heard this one on the radio at least 100 times because it is just that good. There isn’t a Sam Smith song that I don’t like, if I’m being honest. I recommend listening to all of his albums when you have the spare time but if you’re in a rush, this song is definitely his most fire hit.

4. Hitchhiker by Demi Lovato

This new album Demi just released is definitely some of her best music, and that’s saying a lot. This album will no doubt have you in the feels. This song makes you want to bust out your own set of pipes, even if they’re not that great. “Hitchhiker” tells a story about love and how it really changes someone’s life.

5. Sway by Danielle Bradbery

This is an honest and fun song that forces you to get out of your seat and dance. I like to listen to this song in the shower, in the car, really anywhere – and I always end up moving along with the beat. Be on the lookout for Danielle’s new album, if it’s anything like this song it’s sure to be amazing.

6. Any song by Maren Morris

I seriously can’t recommend just one song by Maren Morris, I have to recommend her whole album. It has a country/folk sound that somehow makes you feel like a bad a** when listening to it. I’m constantly listening to any song by her but my all time favorite is “Second Wind” because of the story it tells and the message it relays to listeners. I literally can’t wait for her next album.
