Fun Things To Do With Your Friends This Fall Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UMKC chapter.

With October finally here, fall is in the air! Although this season may look a bit different this year due to the worldly pandemic that is going on, that doesn’t mean you can’t still find fun things to do with your friends, while still keeping safe. Here are some enjoyable activities you should try with your friends this fall season.

Try a signature fall drink at Starbucks.

What’s the season of fall without a delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte? If you have friends with a tight schedule, a quick coffee date would be the perfect way to meet up with each other. Set up a time for you and your friends to visit Starbucks and try one of their signature seasonal drinks, such as the famous PSL, Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino or even the popular Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew! This is a great way to get into the fall spirit, while still being able to social distance.

Visit a pumpkin patch/host a pumpkin carving party.

One of my favorite things to do during fall is to find a local pumpkin patch with my friends. Since it’s outside, there is plenty of space to social distance while looking for the perfect pumpkin to snatch. After bringing them home, you can have as much fun as you want carving pumpkins with your friends. If you want to spice things up (no pun intended), have a little competition on who can make the spookiest/funniest design. Here are some creative ideas on Pinterest for design inspiration.

Have a late-night scary movie marathon.

Nothing screams Halloween like watching a scary movie or two. My way of thinking is that if you’re going to be scared, then you might as well be scared with your besties by your side. If you’re brave enough, invite some of your friends over for a thrilling late-night scare fest full of spooky films and ghost stories. Just make sure you watch some funny cartoons afterward so you don’t have nightmares.

Bake some fall cookies.

It’s time to bring out your inner-chef skills by baking some delicious sugar cookies. Get creative with your friends by mixing and matching cute fall shapes to cut your cookies into. There are so many designs to choose from, so you truly can’t go wrong! Some signature fall shapes include pumpkins, scarecrows, leaves and even candycorn. Follow this step-by-step tutorial on how to decorate these adorable scarecrow cookies.

The list of fall activities can keep going on and on, but I have limited it to some of my favorite ones. Keep in mind to wear a mask around each other, as well as try to social distance whenever possible. The last thing we want is for this pandemic to continue spreading and harming more people. Be safe, wear a mask and happy fall y’all.
