One of my favorite things to do when I have free time is to online shop. With all this time spent inside due to COVID-19, I have extra time to browse the web for my latest find. In fact, I have become even more of a shopaholic since I moved to college because I keep finding small businesses and shops that I want to support online. I have found Etsy to be the best place to do so because it has such a wide variety of small businesses. Since the holidays are right around the corner, I have started shopping for family members and friends. I pride myself on my gift ideas, so I thought that I would make a list of budget friendly ideas from Etsy — instead of Amazon or department stores. Not only would you be supporting someone’s passion with a purchase, but you will end up with a truly unique gift! With that being said, here are six gift ideas for everyone in your life.

For the person who is obsessed with their pet:

If you are like me, then you love giving gifts that are custom to the recipient. This custom pet sweatshirt would be perfect for the friend who wants to show off their adorable pets with their style. Plus, the warm sweatshirt would be fitting for the cold months ahead of us. I already plan on purchasing a few of these for my own friends, and I may have to get one for myself too!

For the creative soul:

While staying inside and isolating from others, many people have more time on their hands than usual. Because of this, why not give someone an activity that will keep them busy and help them de-stress. I found this candle making kit, which would be an amazing gift to inspire creativity and possibly spark a new hobby.

For the self proclaimed movie buff:

While scrolling through Etsy, I found this scratch off movie poster that would look amazing in anyone’s home. It would fuel their love for cinema and give them even more movie recommendations to watch while quarantining over the holidays. As someone who loves watching and talking about movies in my free time, I would absolutely love opening this as a gift!

For the person who takes self-care seriously:

Let’s face it, we could all use a long and calming bath to help distract us from everything happening in the world. This zodiac sign bath salt kit is a great way to give a moment of relaxation to a friend. Plus, how fun would it be to have a bath with products specifically designed for your astrological sign!

For the green thumb in your life:

We all know someone who has a few too many plants in their room. While getting another plant would be fun, it would also be a good idea to get them something that emulates their love of plants. Try finding a plant related mug or shirt that they can wear to showcase their green thumb. I found an adorable “plant lady” mug that would be a great addition to anyone’s collection.

For the person who misses traveling:

With most travel plans being canceled or put on hold because of COVID-19, many people are hopelessly wishing to travel the world again. Gifting a handmade travel planner journal would be a wonderful way of helping someone plan all of the post-covid trips that they are dreaming about. Not only would you be supporting a small business, but you would also be helping someone get excited about something again.

While this gift guide may not check every gift off of your list, hopefully it will make your holiday shopping a bit easier. However, as you continue to shop for loved ones, remember to support small businesses online and in your community. With economic struggles brought on by the pandemic, they need your support now more than ever.
