Why Men Should Want to Date a Tomboy

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UK chapter.

College. We are repeatedly told these are the best years of our life.  If you are anything like me, you are told this as you are wearing cut-off sweatpants with your hair thrown into a lopsided ponytail. Anyone who knows me knows I would rather spend any given day in the woods than in the mall. I find myself touching my split-ends every time I see my extremely girly best friend rocking a pair of leggings and a V-neck. If you have been in this situation before, continue reading to know the overlooked pros to dating a tomboy.

We like beer. And pizza.

This first one speaks for itself.  Us tomboys have no fear of overeating in front of a date.  The only issue with our glutinous behavior is that our date will have to spend double what he planned.

We are comfortable farting around our significant other

After eating our fair share of a large four-topping, we have no shame in letting one rip.  This is great because it immediately sets the standard for us being long-term relationship material. Guys that are not okay with this are quickly weeded out (think of how people change their engineering major once they have their first series of calculus classes).

It takes us no time to get ready

My regular morning routine can be completed in under twenty minutes.  This includes me eating two fried eggs and toast, letting out my dog and brushing my teeth.  Running my fingers through my hair as I lock my apartment door will suffice.  The tomboy routine is a sure-fire way to make sure we are never late for a good time.

Next time you are down for not being as feminine as some of your friends, just keep in mind that someone somewhere wants to take you on a kayaking date.
