Summer break is here and that means hot weather, summer love and vacation! Whether you are relaxing at home all summer or going on a beach getaway there are some items that you should definitely have in your purse at all times:

  • Deodorant

Deodorant makes the list because, obviously, heat=sweating. I don’t know about you, but when I sweat it is not very pleasant, BO can only be covered up for so long. Carrying deodorant wherever you go will always be handy, especially on pool days.

  • Sunscreen

Not everyone needs sunscreen, but if you are anything like me (can’t tan, only burn) then this is a summer essential. I don’t know the different between SPF 30 and SPF 100, but I usually tend to go for the higher numbers, because my skin bakes in the slightest amount of sunshine. Avoid getting the worst burn (that you will only feel later in a hot shower) by packing sunscreen with you and applying it accordingly.

  • Cleansing wipes

Get real, summer is hot, and mostly everyone sweats so this item will be very helpful for everyone that will be out all day and doesn’t have time to take a shower when they’ve been out all day. Cleansing wipes will help you tidy up and smell nice in any situation. They can also be used for cleaning up a mess, so you will have a 2-in-1 wipe, just don’t try to use household cleaning wipes on yourself because they can’t double as body wipes for logical reasons.

  • Sunhat

I say sunhat for the same reason as I do sunscreen. My skin is like bacon it sizzles in the heat. A sunhat will protect your head, face and (depending on how big) your shoulders. This will also be beneficial because it will keep you from becoming two-toned, but you can always use makeup to match your face to your body.

  • Dry Shampoo

Washing your hair every two days is a hassle, let alone having to wash it everyday because of sweat. Dry shampoo to the rescue. If you are a lazy girl, like me, you are already very familiar with dry shampoo. Dry shampoo should only be used for the day in between washes though, because some dry shampoos start to become very gritty feeling once it has been in your hair for a bit. I could only imagine what using dry shampoo more than one time before washing would feel like on your hair.

Don’t let the summer heat keep you from looking (and smelling) your best!

I may never win a Pulitzer, but I will be doing something that makes me happy and I would not change that.
