Holidays can go one of two ways: 1) lots of arguing between family members who have different view points but refuse to respect the others belief. 2) curled up on the couch with a blanket next to your Christmas tree watching Christmas movies with your family (or alone if you prefer). Spend your winter break enjoying the break by doing these things:

  • Glam up

Looking good means feeling good. Even if you are just spending time with your family throw a little makeup on and post some cute photos on Insta. Just because you will not see most of your college friends, does not mean you have to go full on hobbit mode. I do not know about you, but I love playing with makeup and the break between classes gives you a lot of time to test out many different makeup looks. Tarte Cosmetics offers a variety of products fit for any makeup look. Maybe Santa will bring you a Tarte Tarteist™ PRO palette for Christmas. Pair that with their Lights, Camera, Lashes™ mascara and you are ready to become Insta famous!

  • Sleep in

I love winter break for many reasons, but most of all I love that I finally get to sleep after three months of classes. I will be sleeping until 12 p.m. no matter what. If you are going home for the holidays and your family tends to wake you up extra early, you can at the least look like you are well rested with Alba Botanicals® Fast Fix for Puffy Eyes Eye-Revive Gel. Just because you cannot sleep like you want to does not mean you have to look like it.

  • Stay warm and cozy

Unless you live somewhere warm chances are you will be freezing every time you step outside this winter. I know I do not want to be out in the cold weather but sometimes it is required. Cold weather and skin are not that great of a mix, that is why I always keep some lotion in my car or purse. This winter try Being by Sanctuary hand cream. My favorite is the Salted Caramel & Macadamia. They have multiple other scents to satisfy many preferences. Keep your skin from cracking this winter with Being.

  • Work out, finally

I have been telling myself all semester to go to the gym or at least go for a run, but it has not bee that easy. With a full course load and limited free time I did not want to deal with one extra thing added to my already busy schedule. Now that winter break is almost here it is finally time to re-consider the gym, but you have to have some cute gym clothes. Le Motto and Allegran, a leader in women’s healthcare, teamed up to create an empowering and comfortable active wear tank inspired by the #ActuallySheCan movement started by Allegran. With three shades and three different mottos there is a shirt for anyone. Look cute at the gym with this collab.

  • DIY Crafts

Since you finally have some free time, do something that you will enjoy and DIY something cute with your family. HCUK Marketing Director, Hannah, is the queen of décor and DIY on our team. Inspired by her article about DIY ornaments, make some for yourself. Do not worry if you do not have a hot glue gun, Krazy Glue, while it will not be as quick drying as hot glue, it works just the same!

Winter break is almost here, it is time to start doing the things you could not do through the semester with the addition of celebrating the holidays.

I may never win a Pulitzer, but I will be doing something that makes me happy and I would not change that.
