Making a terrarium is easy, inexpensive and the perfect touch to any room! You will need five items to make the terrarium:

  • Glass jar
  • Three to four fake succulents depending on jar size
  • Sand
  • Rocks
  • Fake moss

I found my glass jar at my local Peddler’s Mall for only $2; white sand, rocks and fake moss each for $1 at Dollar Tree; and fake succulents at Walmart ranging in price from $2 to $2.50. There are plenty of other places to find cheap materials for this project, but these were the most convenient for me!

Step One: Fill the glass jar with as much sand as you want. For my jar, I used the entire bag of sand I purchased.

Step Two: Create a layer of rocks on top of the sand. For my jar, I have two layers of rocks.

Step Three: Line a thin layer of moss on top of the rocks.

Step Four: Add succulents! My jar fit three, so fill yours to your desire.
