Ever been in need of some solid girl time? In light of the recent Valentine’s Day, my girlfriends and I are finding new and fun ways to spend time together. Here are some of the activities we tried and plan to do!

  • Playing Cards Against Humanity

Known as the “dirty version of Apples to Apples,” this game is the perfect addition to any girls night! Music, combined with all your friends playing a hilarious card game, can not go wrong. This game brings out the dirtiest humor with even your most innocent friends, making a game that is full of laughter.

  • Spa Movie Night

Throwing on a good movie while partaking in face masks is a great way to bond and rejuvenate your pores at the same time. Collectively watching a favorite film while feeling fresh and clean is a night well spent.

  • Having a “Family” Dinner

Buying food, cooking it and enjoying a meal with your friends is an ideal time. Cooking with your friends can make you feel at home. Eating together is relaxing and I mean, who does not love a good home-cooked meal?

  • Hiking

Exercise. Beautiful Scenery. What more do I have to say? Going on hikes with my friends has most definitely been a time to remember. Working as a counselor at a summer camp, I spent the majority of my summers in the woods hiking through the scenic terrain. The deep conversations I had with my closest friends and the bonds I formed with those I did not know as well were all because of these long hikes. Even if hiking is not your thing, just appreciating the scenic views is enough to catch anyone’s eye.

  • Taking a Road Trip

This one is my personal favorite. Being in the car and listening to music with others is easily the best way to bond and get to know one another even better. With an entertaining place as the destination, you really cannot go wrong with a fun road trip. The time spent in the car ensues deep conversations. That, and a fun trip to a meaningful or fascinating place makes for even more connection than you previously had.

When my friends and I went to Chattanooga for New Years, we had an amazing time once we got there. However, it was the car ride where we bonded the most, despite being in tight quarters, and got to know each other even better. More long car rides and fun trips with my friends would create so many memories that last a lifetime.

Finding new bonding activities to share with your best friends is so worth it! There are many different ways to enjoy spending time with each other, and I encourage you all to explore your options!

Hi all, I'm Paige. You could find me outside or making art. I'm inspired to take on another semester leading a great group of girls at UK!
