Five Drinks To Get You In The Holiday Spirit

Spread some holiday cheer this season with some festive drinks that are bound to make your closest friends and family jolly! Add a twist to any traditional drink with a few recipes that are guaranteed to be a hit at your holiday party.

 

  • The North Pole

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz. of vodka

  • 2 oz. of Kahlúa (add more for a stronger taste)

  • 4 tbsp. of chocolate syrup

  • 1 tbsp. of vanilla extract

  • 3 tbsp. of molasses

  • 1/8 teaspoon of ginger

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or whole milk

  • Whipped cream, candy canes and crushed gingerbread cookies for garnish

In a cocktail shaker, pour and  combine the vodka, Kahlúa, chocolate syrup, vanilla, molasses and ginger. Shake until well combined. Add ice to the shaker and shake again. Rim your glasses with the crushed ginger bread. Strain the final liquid into four glasses. Pour your heavy cream on top of the drink. Add your whip cream on top the drink, sprinkle any remaining gingerbread on top of the whip cream and add a candy cane into the drink. Enjoy!

 

  • 2. White Christmas Mojito

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of lime juice

  • 1/4 cup of packed fresh mint leaves

  • 1/4 cup of sugar

  • 1/2 cup of white rum

  • 1/4-1/2 cup of coconut rum (depending on your taste)

  • 1 cup of canned coconut milk

  • Sparkling water

  • Pomegranate arils for serving

In a pitcher, press the lime juice, sugar and mint leaves until the leaves break down. In a blender, mix the white rum, coconut rum and coconut milk. Blend until smooth. Pour over the mixture in the pitcher. Stir to combine. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve. In glasses, fill with ice and pour the drink halfway up the glasses. Top with sparkling water and the pomegranate. Add the mint for a garnish on top.

 

  • Chai White Russian

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. of vodka

  • 1.5 oz. of Kahlua

  • 1-2 oz. of chai tea syrup

  • 1-2 oz. of heavy cream

  • Cinnamon sticks and star anise for the garnish

Grab your favorite glass and fill it with ice. Add the vodka, the Kahlua and the chai tea syrup. Stir the mixture and ice gently. Add the heavy cream on top of the drink. For the finishing touches, sprinkle some cinnamon over the drink. Add a star anise and a cinnamon stick for added garnish. Enjoy this festive take on a classic drink!

 

  • Sugar Cookie Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 4.5  cups of whole milk

  • 2/3 cups of sweetened condensed milk

  • 1/4 cup of cocoa powder

  • 6 oz. of semi-sweet or dark chocolate (chopped up)

  • 1 tbsp. of vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract

  • Whipped cream marshmallow and, sugar cookies and coarse sugar

Put a twist on a traditional favorite without any alcohol. This hot chocolate recipe will definitely have you in the holiday spirit. Add the milk, sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, chocolate and vanilla extract to a large pot. Place the pot over medium to low heat until the milk is hot, but not boiling. Stir the pot often to make sure nothing sticks or burns. Once the hot chocolate is steaming, ladle into mugs. Add as much whip cream, marshmallows and top with with condensed sugar. Add a sugar cookie for an extra treat!

 

  • Rudolph-Tini

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. of vodka

  • 1 oz. of hazelnut liqueur

  • 1 oz. of coconut flavored rum

  • 1 oz. of half-and-half cream

  • Two, 4-inch cinnamon sticks

  • 1 maraschino cherry

 

Pour the vodka, hazelnut liqueur, rum and half-and-half into a cocktail shaker over ice. Shake until the outside of the shaker is noticeably cold. Strain the drink into a chilled martini glass. Completely turn your drink into Rudolph by positioning the cinnamon sticks to look like antlers and then adding cherry on the rim to look like a his nose. Enjoy!
