Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Flavors Ranked

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UK chapter.

It is no doubt that the best snack in between exams, presentations, and endless reading assignments is ice cream. While it is most reasonable to just buy a gallon or half gallon of the store brand “frozen dessert,” sometimes we need to splurge and treat ourselves with the luxury that is Ben and Jerry’s. Here is my top 5 list next time you find yourself looking for the perfect pint.

Americone Dream

This is it. This is the ice cream we should all thank Ben and Jerry’s for creating. It is the perfect mixture of love, sweetness, and summer. With chunks of chocolate covered cone swirled with caramel in vanilla ice cream, it really does not get any better. Stephen Colbert stars on the front of this pint to make the moment even more special.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Does it get any better than this? Well apparently so, because it is number 2 on the list. However, this is one of my favorite flavors because of the huge chunks of cookie dough packed into this pint.  I love vanilla ice cream if you could not tell, and this mix of cookies is perfect for indulging!

Vanilla Caramel Fudge

I love this because of the simplicity that it is. It reminds me of when I was a child and a certain restaurant’s ice cream machine stopped working, so I was not able to get the vanilla and caramel sundae. My grandmother would buy me this gem instead, so really no foul at all. A perfect pick for the picky eaters!

Bourbon Pecan Pie

This is definitely the pick for Kentucky college students. It is not just sweet but also quite nostalgic. The pint will take you through the memory of home on the front porch with grandmother’s pie while bringing you to the present of college with a sweet bourbon bite.

Cherry Garcia

Chocolate covered cherry meets heaven in this small but mighty cup of ice cream. The only downside to this flavor is the potent cherry flavor. The cherry to chocolate ratio is like 4:1 to me, so definitely keep that in mind.

Of course, this is my bias opinion based on more than my peanut allergy. No matter what you choose, treat yourself with some ice cream!
