7 Sweet Treats for Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UK chapter.

Whether you are single or in a relationship, there is one thing that everyone loves about Valentine’s Day: sweets. Instead of opting for a cliché box of chocolates, make your own yummy desserts! It can be a fun activity to do on Galentine’s Day with your girls or on actual V-Day with your S.O. It can even be a cute gift for your friends because who does not love food? Here are seven sweet treats to make for Valentine’s Day:

1. Cake Pops

Cake pops are a bite-sized dessert that anyone would enjoy. Make cookie dough, birthday cake, plain chocolate or any other flavor of your choosing and add icing. Then, decorate them with pink sprinkles, heart shaped fondant, or even make them into a rose bouquet!

2. Chocolate Covered Everything

If you are a huge chocolate lover and just cannot celebrate V-Day without it, then these are the desserts for you. Make chocolate covered Oreos, chocolate covered marshmallows, chocolate dipped pretzels or all of the above! Add icing and sprinkles to make them holiday themed. 3. Cookies

These are probably the easiest to make, but you can get really creative with them! A fun type of cookie for V-Day is candy heart cookies: sugar cookies with colorful icing and cute phrases decorated like candy hearts!

4. Macaroons

If you are feeling fancy, macaroons are a yummy dessert that can be cute when boxed up for a gift! Be sure to use a flavor that will create a pink or red macaroon for the holiday theme.

5. Mini Cupcakes

This is a great option if you are making dessert for a lot of people. Cupcakes are a classic, but making them fun-sized can make them even more enjoyable! Use pink icing and a ton of sprinkles for this V-Day treat.

6. Whoopie Pies

This is a great dessert to make if you want to ensure nobody else will beat you to it! Whoopie pies are super original and super yummy. Make red velvet if you don’t want to decorate them but chocolate if you feel like getting artistic with icing.

7. Chocolate Covered Strawberry Shake

Instead of making basic chocolate covered strawberries, make it into a milkshake! This is a fun V-Day drink to wash down all of these sweets and will definitely win you bonus points for being creative.

Hopefully one of these desserts will satisfy your sweet tooth or be loved by someone you love this Valentine’s Day! Enjoy!
