Living in a big city has so many benefits. One of the benefits is that you are surrounded by diversity. Everywhere you go, you can instantly notice that there are so many cultures that you are surrounded by, and it’s an amazing feeling.

I don’t know about you all, but living in a big city has made me realize that beauty truly does surround us. I have learned to find beauty in the simplest of things. There is beauty in the amazing architecture of the buildings, beauty in the hussle of train goers, and there’s beauty in the way people are always walking like they have goals and dreams that need to be completed. Another great thing cities offer, is how close everything is. One of my favorite things to do is grab a cup of coffee right after my classes. All I need to do is walk five minutes and I’ll be in a coffee shop. Having everything close by also makes hanging out with your friends or significant other very easy since there are a plethora of things to do that you can choose from.

Cities also have so many endless oppurtunities. From internships, fellowships, to further education. I have so many friends who currently have internships and all of them are located in the city. One of my favorite things in the world is watching the sunrise. There is nothing like a city sunrise! It’s something that words don’t do justice to. Trust me, you all just have to see for yourself–it truly is a beautiful thing.

I love how it’s impossible to get bored when you live in the city. There is so much to do, and the vibe is different everywhere you turn. The city makes me feel inspired and passionate and those are two of the most powerful feelings.

In the end, it all comes down to preference. I know many people who love living in more rural areas, but I also know many others who love living in a big city. I personally love living in a big city, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love how the city makes me feel like I’m a part of something bigger, and also the vibe it gives off. A big city isn’t for everyone, but why not give it a try? Who knows, you may even end up falling in love with it!

Just your average girl living in a big city, trying to figure out life.
