You’ve heard about the negative side effects of beer, but are you aware of its benefits. For those of you who are old enough to drink, here are some good reasons for you not to feel guilty when drinking a beer or two.
- Reduces the risk of heart disease: For women, one 12 oz. and for men two 12 oz. beers are considered to be moderate alcohol consumption. Beer has been proven to lower cholesterol and reduce heart risk and stroke.
- Beer and blood pressure: People who drink beer in moderate amounts are found to have lower blood pleasure than those who consume wine.
- Helps reduce kidney stones: The water content in the beer. The calcium from hops helps slow down the release of calcium from bones, preventing the creation of a stone.
- Beer contains fiber: Dark beer contains over 1 gram of fiber and standard beer contains under a gram. It also contains various B vitamins, as well as magnesium and antioxidants.
