As UIC”s campus continues its initiative to “Go Green,” it is up to us students to help save our environment. Recycling is one of the most important awareness campaigns that organizations, charities, and even universities everywhere are trying to promote. Not only does recycling cut back on waste, and thus hurtful emissions to the atmosphere, but it also re-uses much of the material that we simply put to waste. Recycling could save us AND our favorite organizations money in the long run, while making sure to keep the planet clean and usable for future generations.
Over the next several weeks, UIC and the Office of Sustainability is calling all students and faculty to team together and remember to recycle everything that you can! Colleges across the country take part in a friendly competition, with the most recycle-crazy school taking home the prize!
UIC will win an awesome trophy if we win this competition, but more importantly, we can be an inspiration to local businesses, schools, and even fundraising programs. Show the world what we’re made of, and join this year’s RecycleMania!
