Polar Express (2004)

The Polar Express is a classic, animated film that captures the essence of believing in Christmas and Santa. It follows three children who had been selected on Christmas Eve to see Santa Clause. In order to reach the North Pole, they must take the “Polar Express” to reach it.

You’re a mean one… Mr. Grinch… not feeling festive? Well, maybe the Grinch is more relatable than we thought. This movie is the live-action version of the Dr. Seuss classic cartoon film, starring the well-known actor, Jim Carrey.

This film trilogy is not only an old classic, but captures the behind the scenes and effort the role Santa really plays. The films follow a man that suddenly takes on the role of being Santa after scaring the original Santa Clause off the roof of his house.

Elf (2003)

Ever heard of the iconic spaghetti breakfast? Spaghetti mixed with maple syrup, Pop-tarts, and marshmallows? No, okay… This follows a man raised to be an elf, in the North Pole, who travels to New York searching for his long-lost father. Buddy the elf, not only finds his father, but also finds himself trying to fit in all while showing everyone the true spirit of Christmas.

Home Alone (1990)

As a Chicago native, this film really hits home. It consists of a young boy living in a suburban Chicago neighborhood, who is accidentally left home alone while the rest his family rushes to the airport to make their family vacation. Now home alone, he has to fight off two burglars in his neighborhood, using tricks and inventions.
