Five Facts You Didn’t Know About Netflix’s “Love is Blind”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UIC chapter.

If you haven’t heard of Netflix’s new hit show, “Love Is Blind,” it is a reality dating show that features singles dating in self-contained pods. The singles aren’t able to see their potential significant others until they get engaged. After their engagement, the couples are taken on a romantic trip to Mexico before getting married less than a month later.

A fuzzy screen in the back ground might say \"netflix\" but the image\'s selective focus is on a mug of some sort.

  1. Even though the show aired February 13, 2020, it was actually filmed in 2018! So any couple that stayed together had to keep their relationship a secret for awhile!
  2. The pods were soundproof and the couples were talking through speakers!
  3. The contestants didn’t actually apply to be on the show but instead producers and casting agents for “Love is Blind” reached out to people they thought would be on the show for the right reasons!
  4. The cast originally consisted of 40 to 50 people. Considering that the reunion episode only included 12 people this is super interesting!
  5. Two other couples actually got engaged on the show, but their stories were not included in the episodes!
