My skin has been…problematic the past couple of weeks. Since the beginning of the month, I was sick with acute bronchitis and the medication side effects were acne. To top it off, I ended the month with my period. In February I have been experimenting with skin care products in hopes to get my skin back to normal. I went to an esthetician and she suggested some products which made my skin super dry. So I went back to my old skin products just to have something to use while my search continues. That is why I am so excited to try First Aid Beauty. I was able to test two products; the Pure Skin Face Cleanser and the Hello Fab Coconut Smoothie Priming Moisturizer.

The Pure Skin Face Cleanser is fragrance-free, gentle cleanser that effectively removes makeup, dirt and grime, leaving skin soft and supple. It is influenced with a powerful Botanical Antioxidant blend. It helps safeguard skin against environmental aggressors while calming irritated skin. This non-stripping, pH balanced formula works to maintain skin’s natural acidity and helps reduce flare ups, never leaving skin tight or dry. This cleanser is the solution for dryness and redness. I love that this product does not have fragrance and targets my biggest problem of dryness. Living in Chicago it gets cold! So the heater is always on making your skin extra dry. In addition to all these benefits, it also protects from environmental aggressors like air pollution. Which is not a problem you think about until you live in a city and the car to tree ratio is much greater.

I applied the cleanser to damp skin and rubbed the cleanser on my face for a minute to really make sure I cleaned it properly. The cleanser foamed up but not too much. It also did not have a scent and can be compared to a lotion scent. After I washed my face I noticed how clean and supple it felt. Which should not be confused with a squeaky clean feeling. It felt free of any oil, moisurtizer, and SPF from the day. I love this product and give it a 10/10 and highly recommend it to be included in your double-cleanse. Not sure what a double cleanse is?

Now moving onto the second product, Hello Fab Coconut Smoothie Priming Moisturizer. This product is formulated with Coconut Water and other super food ingredients. This natural, complexion-enhancing moisturizer instantly brightens, hydrates and smooths in one simple step, while helping blur the appearance of pores and imperfections. Additionally to being a moisturizer it is also a primer. Formulated with super food ingredients that are rich in vital proteins, electrolytes and minerals and infused with a natural coconut scent, this priming moisturizer hydrates and smoothes skin as light-reflecting Micro-Pearls impart a subtle, dewy luminosity. This product is great for people who want to combat dryness, dullness, pores, and uneven skin tone

I was so excited for this product because of how well the first product went for me. It is a beige color, which is different from a usual moisturizer. The super foods such as coconut, apple, and apricot talked about previously give it a sweet smell. When applied it goes on very smoothly and you get that feeling of hydration. I also find it interesting that they added light-reflecting Micro-Pearls. This moisturizer reminded me of the Glow Starter Mega Illuminating Moistuizer because of these Micro-Pearls but the First Aid Beauty one is way more affordable. For being a morning moisturizer, I wish it contained SPF. No matter what you do in your skin care, if you do not apply SPF then it will not matter down the line. So if you use this product, please put SPF on your face after. I wanted to love this moisturizer because of the claims of even skin tone and blurring effect but unfortunately it made my skin extremely red. Immediately after I applied it my skin turned red in my t-zone area. Which surprised me because it did not sting and felt very nice on the skin. I would give this product a 4/10 just because of how irritating it is to my skin but it did feel nice to apply. I wish it worked for me but everyone’s skin is different and what might work for someone might not work for you!
