Double Indemnity (1944)
This old film is about the affair between an insurance salesman and a lonely married woman.  After they could not take it anymore without being with each other, they plan together to kill the woman’s husband and collect the insurance money.
This film is an old classic in a sense that it was one of the darker films to be released during its time.  Double Indemnity is a very entertaining and provocative movie looking at forbidden love and how that can turn others’ fate into a tragic ending.  It is worth a look just for the brilliant acting and twisted story.

Memento (2000)
A man who can’t form new memories tries to solve and avenge the murder of his wife.
That is the basic premise of the movie and that’s all you really need.  The film goes forward by going backwards into the story, making the viewer trying to piece together the puzzle.  This is a very deep and intimate look at a person’s mission to try and get revenge, even if he will not remember it.  Memento gives off a lot of entertaining scenes and is written extremely well.   Plus, the ending is a personal favorite of mine.

Salt (2010)
CIA agent Salt is being marked as a traitor after a former Soviet spy accuses her of being part of the old country.  Then many strange events occur which the CIA tries to capture Salt but she must find out what is going on before an assassination attempt.
There’s a reason why Angelina Jolie gets paid twenty million dollars a movie.  She is a phenomenal actress who can fight almost an army of bad guys.  It’s a fun popcorn flick with plenty of twists and turns leading to an exciting showdown.
