End of the Summer Fun!

As the summer begins winding down do not miss out on the fabulous events Chicago has to offer. Don’t let the change in weather or the color of the leaves interrupt your fun because hanging out with friends and family is the best remedy to a busy life!

So get ready to scream! AAHH! Fest 2014 will consist of good music and good vibes. The fest is set to happen on September 21st at Union Park from 9:30am to 11:30pm. The official lineup is in! Common, Lupe Fiasco, De La Soul, MC Lyte, Jay Electronica, and Lil Herb will perform. There will also be a surprise guest! Do not miss out, tickets are on sale now! If you enjoy international music the 16th Annual World Music Festival Chicago is right for you! The festival will take place from September 11th-21st at various locations. From Indian classical music and Latin Jazz to Afro beat performances and Romani music, Chicago’s World Music Festival will be filled with culture. All performances are FREE admission! The Chicago Cultural Center will have a Fall Open House on Friday, September 12th. The day and night event will present music, art, and a tour of different exhibits! The majority of the event is free of charge except for a play screening at the Red Tape Theatre. The entire schedule can be found at this website

So although summer is winding down, there are tons of fall events in the city that are free and will be fun to attend! The city is essentially our playground and with the hustle and bustle of the city life, it’s impossible not to enjoy all of what it has to offer! 

Cristina is an Accounting major at UIC. She enjoys bike rides, reading, and yoga. Cristina dreams of traveling to Spain, Greece, Czech Republic, and going on a road trip through the United States. She aspires to receive her Master's degree and become a successful accountant.
