Now that College Fashion Week Chicago edition is over, we can finally talk about it! Revel Downtown could not have been a more perfect venue for this night of fashion and fun. Speaking from an unexpectedly insider perspective (as I was an impromptu model) the show was great. Boohoo supplied the fashion, TRESemme supplied the hair, and BareMinerals supplied the makeup to make the models gorgeous and provide attendees with an unforgettable show. The show consisted of three main collections from Boohoo: Imperial, Brooklyn Princess, and Woodlander— all very different but equally adorable.

The Imperial trend takes its inspiration from urban elegance, incorporating khaki tones to create an effortless city chic. I donned a pink and khaki pantsuit down the runway, the perfect look to either dress up or dress down. The runway look was dressed up with chunky heeled strappy sandals and an oversized pink clutch, but the suit is so versatile that it can be paired with a statement necklace and a chunkier heel to dress it down. The second trend, Brooklyn Princess, is also a very urban collection but draws a more 90s grunge inspiration that Imperial. All of the looks are very edgy and hipster chic, perfect for a day in the city. A personal favorite of this trend from last night’s show is the pleated metallic midi skirt, paired with a powdery pink crop and a black heel to create a sporty yet girly vibe. The final trend of the night was Woodlander, which boasts earthy warm tones and lots of nature inspired patterns. I modeled this trend as well, my look being high waisted denim shorts, a white tee, a gorgeous ankle length deep red sweater and to-die-for chunky black booties. Walking this down the runway was a piece of cake comfort-wise, and all of the models exuded confidence wearing this trend. The subdues hues make this trend perfect for any season but especially fall, and I know my closet will soon contain some (preferably all) of the pieces.

Aside from the incredible fashion, Chicago College Fashion Week was a night of effortless fun and smiles from audience and models alike. I’ve been on the Boohoo website all day filling my cart with looks from the show, and the night was an unforgettable success. Be sure to check out our Facebook for more pictures@hercampusuic
