1. Â Go to the Movies
Insurgent, Get Hard, Unfinished Business, McFarland, and Focus are all worth the two-hour plus screening at the movie theatre during Spring Break. $5 Tuesdays are always a great deal during the week that most movie theaters offer.
2. Â A Day Back in the City
Get back together with your college friends or reunite with your old high school friends, hop on a train, and make your way back to the Windy City. Go back to your favorite restaurants downtown, walk along the lake, take a rest spot at your dorm, and/or go take a picture at the Bean. A city day is always a day well spent.
3. Â Festivities with a Fireplace
It’s not the gorgeous weather most associate with Spring Break, but this week’s weather beats the parka, gloves, scarf, and hat weather we marched through to get to class. Prepare for the spring chill in a circle with blankets and a fireplace in the center while snackin’ outdoors.
4. Â Get Fit
Summer is coming. Start a healthy lifestyle this break by heading to your local YMCA or head outside. Run, swim, bike, dance, squat it up, whatever you do keep a routine up to continue the trend when we head back to school.
5. Â Local Ice Cream & Long Conversations
There’s no ice cream taste that can take you back to the days of sidewalk chalking and biking around the cul-de-sac like the locally famous ice cream shop every hometown has. Make it a flashback trip with great company you haven’t talked to in what seems like ages to catch up on each other’s lives.
6. Â Tie-Dye Love
Who doesn’t love tie dying?? It’s a classic DIY activity that you can do with anyone. Grab your siblings and head to the porch to get some quality brothering/sisterly bonding in during this short week.
7. Â Photoshoot Session
A camera and some buds can lead to hours of goofing off at the park with photo evidence to capture the candid laughs. Make it a college edition with each of you wearing your college/sorority shirts.
